Dark Nights @ the Garlic Farm 2017

Dark Nights came to the Garlic Farm late in October 2017 with a 1 mile illuminated lantern walk. Along the animated trail through fields and woodland several hundred participants encountered sculptures and models of Neolithic flint tools, Iron age weaving, Roman coins and the shouts and drums of early 19th century British soldiers who were billeted in Newchurch whilst preparing to fight in the Napoleonic wars. The event was curated by the New Carnival Company who worked with local schools and community groups to light up the ancient site of Mersley Farm at Newchurch for a night time ramble with a difference.
